Stone(s): Jura limestone - beige

Born in the prehistoric sea, elegant Jura limestone is a monument to our evolutionary history. Its gently curved shape gives the Model Marseille urn grave marker grace and lightness.

When the prehistoric sea receded in the Bavarian Altmühl Valley about 180 million years ago and animals and plants of the marine world slowly sank to the bottom, Jura limestone was formed. It enclosed the once-living creatures of our ancient past as fossils, and thus remains a unique witness to our history today. The noble and warm effect of the Jura limestone is particularly well emphasized in the Model Marseille urn grave marker. The stone opens upward in a delicate fissure, reaching toward the rays of the sky.

Due to its noble appearance, Jura limestone was a popular building material as far back as Roman times and can also be found in numerous structures from the Middle Ages. Jura limestone has a high density, but as a soft sedimentary rock, it is excellent for surface finishing.

Care instructions: Jura limestone is easy to maintain because it weathers or turns green very slowly. To further delay this process, we also seal our stones. Thanks to our proven sealing system, this Model Marseille urn grave marker is even less susceptible to weathering and is also water- and dirt-repellent.
