Stone(s): Basalt

Its robust nature and refined surface texture make basalt a symbol of loyal and precious memory. The fine-pored structure and delicately curved wings give the Cape Town urn headstone an elegant and modern look.

Once expelled from volcanoes as liquid magma onto the earth's surface, basalt hardened into one of the most durable stones. Basalt deposits are found all over the world, even in the depths of the oceans. In some locations, basalt formed into hexagonal columns that continue to enchant observers to this day with their unique appearance. Formerly also called black marble, basalt is characterized by its subtle and classic coloring in dark gray and black tones. Strong and graceful at the same time, the Cape Town urn headstone opens upwards in two gentle wings, giving the sturdy basalt a touch of tenderness.

Care instructions: Basalt is frost-resistant and easy to care for. Thanks to our proven sealing system, this Cape Town urn headstone is less susceptible to the elements.
