Stone(s): Jura limestone

Delicate yet unstoppable, a slender heart grows from the Saale model pillow, creating a quiet symbol of eternal love.

When the primeval sea receded in the Bavarian Altmühltal region around 180 million years ago and the animals and plants of the marine world slowly sank to the bottom, Jura limestone was formed. It encased the ancient creatures of our prehistoric times as fossils, making it a unique witness to our past to this day.

Jura limestone was already a popular building material in Roman times and can also be found in numerous structures from the Middle Ages. It possesses high density, yet as a soft sedimentary rock, it is excellent for surface design.

Care instructions: Jura limestone is easy to maintain, as it weathers or develops moss very slowly. To further delay this process, we additionally seal our stones. Thanks to our proven sealing system, the headstone pillow model Saale is even less susceptible to weather and is also water and dirt-repellent.
