Stone(s): Basalt

Two hearts, separated yet forever united, come together in the Pillow Headstone Model Inn. Its robust nature and noble surface structure make basalt a symbol of loyal and precious memory.

Once ejected from volcanoes as liquid magma onto the earth's surface, basalt hardened into one of the most resistant types of rock. Basalt deposits are found all over the world, even in the depths of the oceans. At some locations, basalt has formed into hexagonal columns, enchanting viewers to this day with its unique appearance.

Formerly also called black marble, basalt is characterized by its subtle and classic coloring in shades of dark gray and black. Its fine-pored structure gives it an elegant and modern look. Basalt is weather- and frost-resistant, making it particularly easy to maintain and durable.

Care instructions: Basalt is easy to care for, as it weathers or develops moss only slowly. To further delay this process, we additionally seal our stones. Thanks to our proven sealing system, the Pillow Model Inn is even less susceptible to weathering and is also water- and dirt-repellent.
