Stone(s): Jura limestone

One heart becomes two, remaining forever connected in memory. With its elegant shape, the Pillow Model Bologna radiates grace and lightness.

The Pillow Model Bologna is crafted from noble Jura limestone, giving it its radiant brilliance and refined appearance. Jura limestone was formed when the primordial sea in the Bavarian Altmühl Valley receded around 180 million years ago, and prehistoric marine animals and plants slowly sank to the seabed. The stone encased these ancient life forms as fossils, making it a unique witness to our past to this day.

Jura limestone was a popular building material even in Roman times and can be found in numerous structures from the Middle Ages. It has a high density, but as a soft sedimentary rock, it is excellent for surface detailing.

Care instructions: Jura limestone is easy to care for, as it weathers or develops moss very slowly. To further delay this process, we also seal our stones. Thanks to our proven sealing system, the headstone pillow Model Bologna is even less susceptible to weathering and is also water- and dirt-repellent.
