Stone(s): Schweinstaler Sandstone & Jura Limestone

Two hearts, separated yet forever united, find each other in the Bergen model pillow gravestone

Bright and elegant Jura limestone combines with warm and vivid sandstone to form a monument of eternal love. The Jura limestone was formed as the primeval sea receded in the Bavarian Altmühl Valley around 180 million years ago, and animals and plants of the marine world slowly sank to the bottom. It enclosed the ancient creatures of our prehistoric past as fossils and remains a unique witness to our history to this day. Opposite it is the warm sandstone, which was formed over 150 million years ago from the deposits of weathered rocks and sand grains. Over time, it hardened into one of Germany's most popular and durable natural stones, which has been handed down to us in magnificent structures since the early Middle Ages. Schweinstaler sandstone has an inherent reddish-brown base tone that appears in a variety of color nuances. Thus, the stone radiates warmth and comfort even on cold days. And on pleasant days, the sun's rays elicit a soft glimmer and sparkle from it.

Care instructions: Both stones are low-maintenance, as they only weather or turn green slowly. To further delay this process, we also seal our stones. Thanks to our proven sealing system, the Bergen model pillow gravestone is even less susceptible to the elements and is also water and dirt repellent.
