The Pillow Model Amazonas is made of exquisite Jura limestone, giving it its radiant glow and noble appearance. Jura limestone was formed when the primeval sea in the Bavarian Altmühltal region receded around 180 million years ago and the animals and plants of the marine world slowly sank to the bottom. The stone encased these prehistoric creatures as fossils, serving as a unique witness to our past to this day.
Jura limestone was a popular building material as far back as Roman times and can also be found in numerous medieval structures. It has a high density, yet as a soft sedimentary rock, it is excellently suited for surface design.
Care instructions: Both stones are low-maintenance, as they only weather or turn green slowly. To further delay this process, we additionally seal our stones. Thanks to our proven sealing system, the Headstone Pillow Model Amazonas is even less susceptible to weathering and is also water- and dirt-repellent.
