Stone(s): Jura limestone - beige

Born in the prehistoric sea, elegant Jura limestone is a monument to our evolutionary history. Its radiant color and refined appearance lend the Single Headstone Model San Mateo a sense of calm and lightness.

Jura limestone was formed around 180 million years ago when the ancient sea retreated in the Bavarian Altmühl Valley and the animals and plants of the marine world slowly sank to the seabed. It encased the prehistoric creatures of the past as fossils, remaining a unique witness to our history to this day. The refined and modern effect of the Jura limestone is showcased particularly well in the Single Headstone Model San Mateo. The simple, gracefully curved form underscores the stone’s radiant luminosity, conveying quiet yet firm confidence.

Because of its elegant appearance, Jura limestone was popular as a building material as far back as Roman times and can also be found in numerous medieval structures. Jura limestone has a high density, yet as a soft sedimentary rock, it is excellently suited for surface detailing.

Care instructions: Jura limestone is easy to maintain, as it weathers or develops moss very slowly. To further delay this process, we also seal our stones. Thanks to our proven sealing system, this Single Headstone Model San Mateo is even less susceptible to the elements and is also water and dirt repellent.
