Stone(s): Jura limestone - beige

Born in the prehistoric sea, elegant Jura limestone is a monument to our evolutionary history. Its gently curved shape gives the Model Berkeley single gravestone grace and lightness.

Jura limestone formed when the primeval sea in the Bavarian Altmühl Valley receded around 180 million years ago and animals and plants of the marine world slowly sank to the bottom. It enclosed the former creatures of our prehistoric past as fossils, making it a unique witness to our history to this day. The noble and warm effect of the Jura limestone is particularly well emphasized in the Model Berkeley single gravestone. The stone opens up at the top in a delicate cleft, reaching towards the rays of the sky like a flower.

Due to its noble appearance, Jura limestone was already a popular building material in Roman times and can also be found in numerous medieval structures. Jura limestone has a high density, but as a soft sedimentary rock, it is excellently suited for surface design.

Care instructions: Jura limestone is easy to care for, as it weathers or turns green only very slowly. To delay this process even further, we additionally seal our stones. Thanks to our proven sealing system, this Model Berkeley single gravestone is even less susceptible to the elements and is also water and dirt repellent.
