Stone(s): Diorite and Sandstone

In a loving touch, robust diorite and playful sandstone grow together.

Seemingly opposites, the dark diorite and the light sandstone complement each other into a harmonious unity. Hard and unshakable, the diorite is gently received by the sandstone. Quietly embracing, strength meets tenderness, power meets warmth, and grief meets confidence in the Model Istanbul double gravestone. Only through the interplay of opposites does the pair reach perfection, providing each other with security and support.

Diorite is one of the hardest and most durable types of stone. Formed from liquid magma deep within the earth millions of years ago, it developed a fine- to medium-grained structure that gives diorite a harmonious effect. Its black to dark gray coloring provides a calm and powerful appearance.
In contrast is the light sandstone, which originated over 150 million years ago from the deposition of weathered stones and sand grains. Over time, it hardened into one of Germany's most popular and durable natural stones, which has been passed down to us in magnificent buildings since the early Middle Ages. The Schweinstal sandstone features a reddish-brown base tone that appears in a variety of color shades. Thus, the stone radiates warmth and comfort even on cold days. And on pleasant days, the sun's rays draw a soft shimmer and sparkle from it.

Care instructions: Diorite is frost-resistant and easy to maintain. Thanks to our proven sealing system, this Model Istanbul double gravestone is less susceptible to weathering and is also water and dirt repellent.
